Coal Clough Windfarm

Coal Clough Windfarm is located south east of Burnley and has 24 Vestas turbines.

Constructed in 1992, it is capable of generating up to ten megawatts of cleaner greener energy.

On the 21st December 2009, ScottishPower Renewables submitted an application to repower Coal Clough Windfarm, which was consented in January 2013. The previous 24 turbines have been removed and replaced with eight new ones, increasing the generating capacity of the windfarm from 9.6 megawatts to 16 megawatts.

Coal Clough Windfarm was officially opened in April 2015.
